As a PR consultant through the PR Agency, I worked with the Ottawa Festivals putting together and implementing a publicity plan for their annual contest and Launch of the Festival Season.
It was a huge success.
One of my greatest achievements was getting published on the front page of the Ottawa Citizen’s Arts & Life section.
Swing into Summer – The article starts off with a spokesperson I selected for the Ottawa Festivals, a local artist named Marc Charron, who I got to produce a song about Ottawa Festivals as a publicity stunt to create a buzz.
We did a media tour and the song even got recorded and posted live on the Ottawa Citizen’s website.
Another publicity stunt for the office opening was to have the City of Ottawa’s mayor Larry O’Brien purchase a ticket to show his support for the local festivals, fairs and events in Ottawa. Lots of media showed up for the photo op including the CHUM Group, CTV, Snap Ottawa, ‘A’ TV.
What ticket did Mayor Larry O’Brien purchase? He purchased a “special” ticket to show his support to all of Ottawa’s events.
